She began her dental career at the Louisiana State University Medical Center School of Dentistry (LSUSD), receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1995.
Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Hanam-Jahr worked as an associate dentist in private practice in New Orleans for one year. After relocating to California, she worked as a civilian consultant dentist at McClellan Air Force Base and as an associate dentist in private practice in both Folsom and Sacramento. She purchased her own practice in 2001 and relocated to Beverly Hills.
