Robert Brus entered the field of antiques and art in Chicago in late 1989 with a focus on early furniture and American paintings. In 1991, Bryan and his wife, Linda, moved to Columbus, Ohio where he opened a fine art gallery. The Bryan H. Roberts Gallery carried European, Scandinavian, and American artwork, including both historic and contemporary work. He co-founded and co-owned Columbus's largest fine art gallery in 2010, Brandt-Roberts Galleries. In his years there, Bryan and business partner Michelle Brandt produced numerous exhibitions and partnered with charitable, art-related organizations such as BalletMet. Together, they also closely worked with the Columbus Museum of Art and other fine art galleries. Bryan sold his interest in the gallery in 2014 and, along with his wife, moved to Sarasota, FL. Currently he owns Bryan H. Roberts Appraisal Services, a business offering appraisals, valuations, and assistance in selling and downsizing. Mr. Roberts is a member of the Florida State Guardianship Association, and a board member of the Sarasota County Aging Network. He also belongs to civic organizations, including Art Center Sarasota. He holds a current certification in the Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practices (USPAP) and works with wealth managers, estate attorneys, insurance companies, and private clients.
